Meets the Fam

Updated: Jul 10, 2019

Welcome to Wrightwood Studios

Now that you are here, you are probably curious...who are we? What is Wrightwood Studios? What is it that we do exactly? For that, we need to get into a Delorean and go back in time.

The year was 1986...

Halley’s comet graced us with her presence, Peter Pan Peanut Butter was $1.04, and Pixar Animation Studios opened. It was also the year Ernesto Vinicio Valentine, the eldest of the Wrightwood Studios fam was born in Chicago, Illinois. In the next seven years, the Wrightwood team would grow by two members. Angel Timothy Dorta and Madelyn Grace Dorta.

From birth, we were an imaginative group of vagabond children bound to one place, our Abuelita's house on Wrightwood Avenue. A constant in our ever-changing world. A place where family was everything and creativity came to us as naturally as breathing. The inspiration for Wrightwood Studios came to be a little over a decade ago when we dared to dream about a day where we would create and tell stories together.

Well, the path on which we got here has changed, our dream hasn’t. We are storytellers, each of in our unique way. Currently, our focus is on audio fiction, with our firstborn project being Meteor City. Meteor City is an alternative history character-driven sci-fi audio drama. It’s a story about one woman’s return home to a post-disaster Detroit. (To learn more information about Meteor City head over to our shows tab.)

While the next few projects we have coming up are audio productions, we are not interested in camping out in one particular box. Our dream is to create a variety of multi-media projects including but not limited to fiction podcasts, short films, music videos, albums, graphic novels and whatever else we damn well feel like making.

Make sure to follow us on social media, and check back here for more updates and behind the scenes features. We doin’ this shit...how ‘bout you?

“People think dreams aren't real just because they aren't made of matter, of particles. Dreams are real. But they are made of viewpoints, of images, of memories and puns and lost hopes. They are as real as you and me.”

Neil Gaiman
